Selling candy didn't raise much money last year, so a Goldsboro middle school is selling grades.
A $20 donation to Rosewood Middle School in Goldsboro, NC, will get a student 20 test points - 10 extra points on two tests of the student's choosing. That could raise a B to an A, or a failing grade to a D.
Susie Shepherd, the principal, said a parent advisory council came up with the idea, and she endorsed it. She said the council was looking for a new way to raise money.
Wow. If this isn't sending a wrong message to our kids..
Don't worry, they have to be able to count to 20 first
wow, I guess there aren't any "A" students, or this wouldn't work, by the way, what does $20 get a straight "a" student? graduate sooner?
double posted, delete this comment. thanks
wow way to show them how to fail and pay their way to the top... seems like there's a large group of people that do that we vote for them oh yea politicians
so raising money is more important than teaching the premise of studying and working for good grades. i would pull my kid out of that school in a heartbeat.
